The Potential for
enhancing the Greenspaces of Overvecht In this section the requirements of the local inhabitants are summarised and
PART ONE - IDENTIFYING THE BASIC GREENSPACE STRUCTURE CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED BY THE INHABITANTS- -Het vaststellen van de grondbeginselen van het open ruimten systeem The study of
the key issues undertaken as part of this project
(see Introduction) shows the local inhabitants
have several general demands. Any assessment of
the potential to change the greenspaces of
Overvecht so that they meet present day needs has
to recognise the importance of these. Overvecht
people want their home environment to take the
maximum possible benefit from the "sea" of
greenspaces between the buildings. They do not want
to lose any greenspace they just want it to be
turned into a better place in which to live. To
summarise, the inhabitants would like: De
studie van de belangrijkste punten opgenomen als
deel van dit project (zie introductie) laat zien
dat de bewoners meerdere algemene verzoeken
hebben. Het
beoordelen van de mogelijke veranderingen van de
groene structuur van Overvecht, moet beantwoorden

tussen de gebouwen. Ze willen geen groen verliezen,
maar willen dat het verbeterd wordt, zodat het
aangenamer is om er te wonen en te

something to see and keep them interested as they
move through the housing area as well as in the
special places like the parks om

and in all the spaces outside the parks that they

to undertake informal surveillance of spaces in
those areas where there are no "wardens"/

interesting things to look at and places to rest in

supplement the fast straight to work/shops/school
cycleways, cycle routes which give access to the
rural area and have focal points such as the Forts
and Nature Reserves to aim for as part of a cycle
