The Heeley Millennium Park is the key project of the Heeley Development Trust and the springboard for its growing number of community based initiatives: creating new jobs, training places and volunteering opportunities for local people and undertaking a wide range of environmental improvements, all aimed at improving the quality of life in the Heeley District, Sheffield.

Summary

Miid 1990s - Development of the original idea by John Le Corney and others involved in the Heeley City Farm
1995-97 - The initial bids for financial support,
setting up the Steering Committee for the Millennium Park and later forming the the Trust

1996-98 - Consulting with the community and encouraging participation in the design and implementation process

1997-98 - Developing the plans and acquiring the land, and funding the Millennium Park

1998-2000 - Making the Park

2000 onwards - Maintaining the Park and stimulating use
