Funding of projects within Work & Learning Club

Initially the Work and Learning Club was supported by European Social Fund monies. As such the participants could apply for small amounts of (pump-priming) monies in support of their projects, e.g. for course enrolment fees, equipment, expenses. Formal records, including records of meetings held between mentors and participants, had to be kept. Funding of participants is now limited within a budget of £1,000, mainly for enrolment fees and local travel expenses, and a training budget of £2,000. While the current Lottery funding is flexible in terms of being allocated to the Belle Isle Foundation without being too rigidly tied down to specific purposes, the budget of the Work and Learning Club remains tight.
