Education:
Landscapearchitect, Graduated from the Norwegian University of Agriculture, (NLH), in 1974
Postgraduate studies in community planning (SAMPLAN): 1986/1987
Professional experience:
1990- Ministry of the Environment:
Processing (mode of treatment?) of master plans and local plans with reference to the Planning and Building Act. Responsible for co-ordinating developments work of "Density with Quality" and guidelines for the same topic. Producing documents to White Paper, in special greenstructure , densification (higher utilization within the build up areas) and nature conservation with focus on special landscapes which are threatened (fjord , alpine pasture, mouth of a river etc.).
Delegate from the Ministry in UN, ECE, Working Party for Sustainable Human Settlements Planning and Management,(from 1993) and in Task Force for making guidelines on sustainable Human settlements and management. Taken part in the european network on densification and greenstructure (background for Cost Action X1)
1997&endash;98 Projectleader for establishing action plan to communicate national greenstructure policy to local level
1998- Co- ordinator between three ministries (,Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Lokal government and Regional development and Ministry of Environment) and working groups of the project which aim is to develope policy instruments for better land utilization in cities and villages.
1998-Secretary of the forum and network of cooperation between 9 ministries and the 6 biggest cities in Norway.;-
2000- Projectleader for working with White Paper of sustainable urban planning
1986-1990: The municipality of Röyken :
Head of the planning department responsible of preparing the master plan and the local plans in the municipality. Secretary for the political planning committee. Part of land use master plans in ten local villages were worked out as co- operating projects. These were developed together with NGO's and the public administration with the planning leader pushing on the processes. (a good english word? Processleader?)
1982-1986: The municipality of Baerum:
Landscape architect in the department of parks and recreation areas in the municipal administration. Designing and processing with reference to the planning and building act. Representing the administration for Park and Recreation Department in political committee In addition to these tasks, it was project related work;- amongst others; housing exhibition in 1986/87.
1979-1982: Asplan A/S, Institute. for community planning, Sandvika, (Norway):
Private consultant company, a landscape architect designer in multidiscipline team. Clients were both municipalities and private enterprices.
1975-1979: The municipality of Stavanger,(Norway)
