- Ministry for infrastructure, transportation and housing : funding research in the field of urbanism, housing and building since 1984.
- fields of specialisation:

-Deputy Chief of the Plan Urbanism -construction architecture, a 50 persons department funding research.
- possible contribution to the network
-a research program conducted between 1992 and 1998 about ecology and cities - 35 researches, 12 about density and nature in cities.

Funding research and innovation

Not clear yet because of a new 5 years program being set up
6 major programs:
- A city for everyone
- Dwellings and living in cities
- Organising territories
- Urban renewal
- The future of housing
- The innovation process in building
The third programme above: organising "territories", might include the thematic of COST C11, greenstructure and urban planning
- support, facilities offered to the action
- a comparative study, funded in 1999 in the frame of the network « green structure and urban density » which built the cost proposal ; comparative study between public policies related to urban sprawl in France, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Germany.
- to be confirm, a research program parallel to the action
- the organisation of a first thematic seminar in Marseilles, May 2001
